Biography

Krista Russell is an attorney in the firm’s Albuquerque office. Her practice focuses on general liability, health care, medical malpractice, and professional malpractice & ethics.

Before beginning her legal career, Krista spent several years working as a magnetic resonance imaging technologist before earning a master’s degree in biomedical diagnostics and transitioning into radiology research. Her firsthand experience working alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals gave her a deep appreciation for the medical community and continues to shape her approach to defending healthcare providers and organizations. This unique background allows her to understand the clinical and operational challenges her clients face while providing thoughtful and practical legal representation.

Prior to joining Hall Booth Smith, Krista practiced civil defense litigation, assisting with matters involving automobile accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, and professional malpractice & ethics. She gained experience drafting pleadings and motions while supporting clients through all phases of litigation.

While attending the University of New Mexico School of Law, Krista served as an extern with the New Mexico Department of Health, where she conducted legal research on health law and government matters. She also participated on the university’s USPTO patent competition team, further strengthening her legal research and analytical skills.

Krista earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law. She also holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Diagnostics, cum laude, from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Advanced Medical Imaging, cum laude, from St. Catharine College.
