Peter O’Connell
Biography
Peter O’Connell is a partner in Hall Booth Smith’s Raleigh office where he focuses his practice on the defense of healthcare providers in medical malpractice actions and before state licensing boards. Peter has extensive experience defending medical professionals in civil and licensing matters, including doctors, nurses, physician assistants nurse practitioners, dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists. He has represented many accountants and attorneys in civil litigation and before their respective licensing boards.
Born in Massachusetts and raised in Connecticut, Peter attended the University of Alabama where he graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1992. He worked as a reporter and editor at community newspapers in Alabama, Mississippi and South Carolina before joining the Las Vegas Review-Journal in 1998. Peter covered Las Vegas courts as a reporter and editor for seven years.
Peter enrolled in Wake Forest University School of Law in 2005, graduating magna cum laude, and practiced in Greensboro before joining Hall Booth Smith in 2022.
Peter is an active tennis and softball player and has coached several youth baseball teams. He lives in Greensboro with his wife, a high school English teacher, and their three children.
