Tiffany Winks
Biography
Tiffany Winks is a Partner in the Atlanta office. She attended Clemson University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science. Prior to attending Charleston School of Law where she graduated cum laude, Tiffany spent a year serving as a construction crew leader for AmeriCorps.
Tiffany’s litigation and insurance defense practice focuses mainly in the areas of construction defect and general liability. She has represented general contractors, developers, various subcontractor entities, a national window manufacturing company, and HOAs in a vast range of construction claims and disputes. She has experience in bad faith, coverage, premises liability, and products liability. Tiffany has successfully tried cases at both the state and federal levels.
Tiffany leads the Construction practice group and has experience representing contractors, subcontractors, developers, and insurance companies in various construction design and defect, delay, contract compliance, insurance coverage, personal injury, and property damage matters. Her practice is focused on the litigation of construction cases, including mediation and trials in both state and federal courts throughout Georgia.
Tiffany has experience representing design professionals in a wide range of pre-suit and litigated matters arising from the design and construction process. This includes the representation of architects, engineers, and surveyors in claims associated with planning, design, and administration of projects at all levels of complexity. She has experience defending claims arising from Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, breaches of contract, construction defects, construction delays, professional negligence, worker injuries/bodily injuries, and materials’/mechanics’ liens.
Tiffany has successfully handled many general liability claims. She has litigation experience involving premise liability and slip and fall cases in apartment complexes and retail stores, products liability claims, and foreclosure actions. In addition, Tiffany has experience with premise liability lawsuits, as well as discrimination claims, associated with ADA compliance (Americans With Disabilities Act), including property regulation compliance and defense of related litigation on behalf of property owners.
Tiffany has experience in providing insurance coverage opinions regarding life, property, and casualty coverage issues including CGL policies, bad faith, uninsured motorists, causation, and excess coverage under commercial and personal policies. In addition, as the cyber insurance market grows, it is critical have counsel who is equipped with the knowledge and understands the unique aspects of data breach and cyber coverage. Tiffany represents insurance companies and is experienced in all aspects of insurance defense. Whether providing a coverage opinion or representation through the trial level, Tiffany is committed to providing quality representation to the client.
Tiffany has experience representing manufacturers in the defense of products liability claims resulting from injuries or death, alleged to be caused by product defects. She is prepared to assist manufacturers and suppliers in the investigation and defense of products liability actions.
Tiffany has experience in third party litigation arising out of transportation, products, and premises liability claims involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death. Tiffany additionally handles first party coverage issues related to issues arising out of transportation, products, and premises liability claims.
