Georgia DPH Revises Guidance to Long-Term Care Facilities

Written by: Brittany H. Cone, Esq. and Jordan Johnson, Esq.

On September 21, 2020, the Georgia Department of Public Health revised its September 15, 2020 Administrative Order to reflect certain portions of the most recent guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The revised Administrative Order to Long-Term Care Facilities maintains the “phase-based” guidance related to testing, visitation, group activities, communal dining, and resident trips outside the facility. One key difference is the reduction of the number of days since the most recent new onset of COVID-19 cases from 28 days to 14 days in order to move out of Phase I.
