
Hall Booth Smith Welcomes Amy Cowan and Britton White as Of Counsel in Athens Office

Hall Booth Smith, P.C. is excited to welcome Amy Cowan and Britton White as of counsel lawyers in the firm’s Athens office. Both lawyers bring substantial litigation experience, having overseen cases from pre-suit through appeal.

About Amy Cowan
With a notable background in governmental liability and constitutional law, Amy has represented clients throughout all levels of Georgia’s court system. Her specific specialties are land use and zoning, constitutional law, environmental law and eminent domain. Amy practices appellate law and has argued cases before the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals. She is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Courts for both the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Outside of her practice, Amy currently serves as an Associate Judge at the Walton County Magistrate Court and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Local Government Section, regularly speaking on topics such as land use, zoning, and Section 1983 litigation.
Amy earned her Juris Doctor degree from Mercer University and completed her undergraduate studies summa cum laude at the University of Georgia.
About Britton White
From pre-suit investigations to appeals, Britton’s broad litigation experience makes him a valuable addition to the firm’s Athens office. With nearly 20 years of litigation experience, his primary focus is general liability defense, transportation litigation and premises liability defense. Britton frequently advises insurers and their clients on strategies for settlement and managing litigation risks. He is authorized to practice in all Georgia state courts, which include the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Outside of his practice, Britton is a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and has written several publications on insurance coverage and liability matters.
Britton earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and completed his undergraduate studies magna cum laude from Emmanuel University.
