Hall Booth Smith Welcomes New Associates Patrick C. Powell and Sean T. Mims

HBS is pleased to welcome Patrick C. Powell and Sean T. Mims as new associates. Patrick C. Powell is an associate in the Brunswick office of HBS.  He is a native of Valdosta, Georgia and received his J.D. from the University of Georgia in 2011.  While in law school, he was awarded Best Advocate in the second round of a national mock trial competition, was a semi-finalist in the J. Melvin England Mock Trial Competition, finished in the top 16 in the Russell Moot Court Competition, served on the Executive Board of the Mock Trial Team, and was Treasurer of the Student Bar Association.  Powell received his B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 2008.  While there, he served as Justice for the University Judiciary, Vice President of the Inter-Fraternity Council, served on the Leadership Team for Campus Crusade for Christ, was Number Three in the Kappa Alpha Order, was a graduate of the Institute for Leadership Advancement, and was selected to Phi Beta Kappa and Blue Key.  Powell currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Young Lawyers Division and is Co-Chairman of Leadership Glynn.  Powell will be serving clients at HBS in the areas of Business Litigation, Individual and Corporate Asset Protection, and Long Term Care Litigation.

Sean T. Mims is an associate in the Columbus office. Sean will concentrate his practice in the areas of Insurance Coverage, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Property /  SIU, Education, and Retail Liability.  Mims received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. During law school, Mims was on the trial team and competed in several national competitions. He was also a member of National Trial Team, Trial Advocacy Board, and National Negotiation Team. Mims is admitted to practice in both Georgia and Alabama.
