Denver Office New Attorney
Hall Booth Smith (HBS) is pleased to announce the continued growth of its Denver office with the addition of two experienced attorneys, Partner Kassie L. Donnelly and Associate Matthew A. Foster, further strengthening the firm’s ability to serve clients throughout Colorado and across the country.

“Denver continues to be an important and growing market for HBS,” said John E. Hall, Jr., founding partner of Hall Booth Smith. “The addition of Kassie and Matthew reflects our commitment to investing in Colorado and the Mountain West while delivering the depth of experience, responsiveness, and practical solutions our clients expect. As we continue to expand our presence in the state, we are also building on the firm’s strong national platform to better serve clients wherever their needs arise.”

Kassie L. Donnelly joins the firm as a partner in the Denver office, bringing nearly 30 years of experience advising individuals, professionals, and businesses on complex legal matters. Her practice integrates litigation, transactional counseling, and alternative dispute resolution, allowing her to guide clients through the full lifecycle of legal challenges, from strategic planning and contract negotiation to mediation, arbitration, and litigation.

Kassie has significant experience handling medical malpractice matters, advising healthcare organizations and aging services providers, and representing clients in complex corporate and business transactions. She also counsels clients across a wide range of industries, including real estate, professional services, and energy, with particular experience advising oil and gas companies on transactional, regulatory, and operational matters. Her background includes senior in-house leadership roles, serving as general counsel for a national healthcare management company and a Fortune 200 international energy company, where she partnered closely with executive leadership on high-level legal, regulatory, and risk management issues. A certified mediator, Kassie brings a practical, solution-oriented perspective to her practice. She earned her J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law, holds an Executive MBA from Boston University, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado.

Matthew A. Foster joins Hall Booth Smith as an associate in the Denver office, focusing his practice on complex civil litigation, including construction defect claims, contract disputes, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, and general liability matters. He has substantial experience litigating high-exposure cases in both state and federal courts across multiple jurisdictions and brings a strategic, trial-focused approach to each stage of litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Matthew specialized in insurance property subrogation, prosecuting complex construction defect, HOA, and product defect claims involving Fortune 500 companies throughout the Mountain West and beyond. He has played a key role in resolving seven-, eight-, and nine-figure matters and has extensive experience negotiating multiparty settlements in complex fire and wildfire loss cases. His prior plaintiff-side experience provides valuable insight and perspective in the vigorous defense of his clients. Matthew earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder and his B.A. in Sociology from Cornell University.
