HBS Supports Atlanta Community Food Bank with 6th Annual Pig Roast

Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) hosted its 6th Annual Pig Roast to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The event was held on January 24th at the Georgia Railroad Freight Depot in Atlanta. Over 600 distinguished guests gathered to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank while enjoying outstanding food and excellent fellowship.

The Pig Roast, first held in the spring of 2007, was started by John Hall, Drew Graham, and Scott Henwood. The event was originally envisioned to be a get-together for HBS’s clients and friends. Since that time, the Pig Roast has grown into a major social event, attracting statewide elected officials, members of the Georgia General Assembly, and members of the judicial branch. This year’s event featured a number of esteemed guests, including Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, Secretary of State Brian Kemp, Attorney General Sam Olens, Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Carol Hunstein, and Georgia Court of Appeals Chief Judge John Ellington.

Brad Carver, who serves as Partner and Senior Managing Director of HBS Governmental Affairs, is proud of this annual tradition, calling the Pig Roast “a great opportunity to connect the folks at the Food Bank with our statewide elected officials, members of the General Assembly, and members of the Judiciary.”

HBS has used the Pig Roast to sponsor the Atlanta Community Food Bank since 2008. The event is just one of the many HBS-sponsored programs that benefit the Food Bank’s efforts to eliminate hunger. For every dollar donated by participants at events like the Pig Roast, the Atlanta Community Food Bank is able to distribute $7.91 worth of grocery products to the community. Brad Carver said that he and HBS are “very happy with our long-term relationship with the Atlanta Community Food Bank.” The event symbolizes HBS’s commitment to public service. The firm has always had a focus on benefitting the community and encourages its attorneys and staff to be active participants within the community through philanthropy and volunteerism.

Hall Booth Smith, P.C. wishes to extend its thanks to the wonderful guests whp made the 6th Annual Pig Roast the most successful to date.
