HBS Welcomes Attorney Daniel Crumby to the Atlanta Office

HBS is pleased to welcome Daniel R. Crumby as an associate in the Atlanta office. Mr. Crumby joins the Health Care practice group. He focuses his practice on federal and state regulations of health care providers, suppliers, and other industry participants; guiding clients through the compliance maze, helping all varieties of care companies understand and manage their approach to patient care within the government standards.
Mr. Crumby received his J. D. at the University of Texas School of Law, where he was awarded the Fulbright & Jaworski Scholarship. In 2011, he received a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in International Business, from the University of Texas at El Paso. To further his expertise in the health care industry Mr. Crumby received a Masters in Healthcare Administration and completed the premiere Healthcare Compliance Certification program at Seton Hall University. In 2015, he was selected by the National Black Lawyers as a Top 100 lawyer and as a Top 40 Under 40 lawyer.
During his professional career, Mr. Crumby served as a federal prosecutor for nearly four years at the United States Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Texas.  As a federal prosecutor  he directed and prosecuted numerous cases including healthcare fraud, bank fraud, narcotics, alien smuggling, child exploitation, human and sex trafficking, and other criminal violations. He also assisted in the investigation and prosecution of a Medicaid healthcare fraud case involving approximately $66 million in billing by a dental clinic and oversaw a bank fraud investigation involving a $1 million commercial property business loan.
Crumby later transferred to the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Georgia, where he investigated and prosecuted white collar crimes including procurement fraud, mortgage fraud, wire fraud, theft of government funds, child sexual exploitation, and other complex cases.  His case load included defense of medical malpractice, premises liability and other tort litigation, labor and employment, tax, bankruptcy and creditor’s rights, and civil rights.
Crumby served in the United States Army as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in a variety of assignments. He was twice awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. Further, he was a member of the Reserve Officer Training Corps where he was named a Distinguished Military Graduate.
