HBS Welcomes Douglas Ammerman as of Counsel to the Atlanta Office

HBS is pleased to welcome Douglas  Ammerman as Of Counsel in the Atlanta office.  Mr. Ammerman handles all aspects of litigation from inception through trial and proactively advises clients regarding risk management and compliance issues.  Before joining HBS, he was Of Counsel and a Partner, respectively,  at two prominent New York City-based medical malpractice defense and healthcare law firms.  For the past 15 years, the overwhelming majority of his practice has been dedicated to the defense of hospitals and physicians in medical practice matters.  In addition, Mr. Ammerman routinely worked in an advisory capacity to many  hospitals and institutions on risk management issues.  He similarly presented cases and provided advice on compliance, liability, and exposure  issues to institutions, hospitals, professional liability insurance carriers and medical professionals.
Mr. Ammerman, earlier in his career,  served as a Law Clerk in the civil division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Newark, New Jersey.  He then transitioned and gained valuable legal experience by prosecuting and defending general negligence matters such as automobile liability, premises liability, inadequate security, products liability and Workers’ Compensation matters.
We warmly welcome Mr. Ammerman to our family and are excited to have him representing our clients.
