Little Rock April Cotton

LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS – October 18, 2022 – Hall Booth Smith, P.C. is pleased to welcome April Cotton as Associate to its office in Little Rock, Arkansas.

April focuses her practice on medical malpractice, correctional health care, products liability, labor and employment, and education matters.

Prior to joining the HBS, April worked at a full-service corporate defense firm where she worked primarily in the areas of products liability, premises liability, general liability, medical malpractice, labor and employment, and education matters. Earlier in her career, she worked as an internal products liability litigation paralegal for one of the largest retail chains in the United States. While serving as a paralegal, April provided support during one of Arkansas’ historic desegregation cases where plaintiffs sought unitary status, decades after the Court determined school districts were unconstitutionally segregated and placed under court supervision since 1982. She also participated in the representation of several institutions of higher learning in Title VII and Title IX litigation. In addition, she has assisted in the defense of civil rights claims against correctional health care professionals.

April earned a J.D. from the University of Arkansas Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law, and also holds a B.S. from Philander Smith College, where she is now an Adjunct Professor.

“April has been a part of the HBS Little Rock family for nearly a year working as a paralegal. We are proud of her effort and accomplishment in being admitted to the bar in Arkansas. Now, as an attorney, her work effort and enthusiasm for helping others and her experience will be great assets for our clients in Arkansas and beyond,” said Baxter Drennon, a Partner in the Little Rock office. We are thrilled to have April advancing her career as an attorney in the Little Rock office of HBS.

The recently opened Little Rock office is located at 500 President Clinton Ave., Suite RL 20, Little Rock, AR, 72201. With over 360 attorneys and two dozen offices, HBS is proud to offer the full-service capabilities of a large firm and the personal relationships and efficiency of a local firm.
