Matt Towery Named to Stetson University Law School Hall of Fame

Hall Booth Smith would like to congratulate  Matt Towery, Of Counsel, in the HBS Atlanta office who was inducted into the Stetson University College of Law’s Hall of Fame at a campus ceremony. “We are proud that Matt’s contributions to law and government are being recognized with such a special honor.  We enjoy practicing with him,” says Alex Booth, managing partner of HBS.
Matt Towery is the Chairman of the HBS Government Affairs and Public Policy Practice. He is a native of Atlanta, is a nationally syndicated columnist, author, political analyst, and pollster.  He also has served as CEO of numerous companies, including, when sold, the largest sheet fed commercial printing company in the Southeast.
Mr. Towery also served in the Georgia House of Representatives and was the Republican nominee for Lt. Governor of Georgia in 1990 at age 30.  He served as a strategist in numerous national and statewide political campaigns including as Chairman of then-Speaker Newt Gingrich’s political organization in the 1990s.
In 1998, the Georgia General Assembly named the State Bridge at I-285 and Paces Ferry Road in Cobb County, Georgia, the “Matthew A. Towery Bridge.”  Mr. Towery has authored several best-selling books, his latest being “Newsvesting: Use News and Opinion to Grow Your Personal Wealth.”  This election year he serves as the political analyst for numerous Fox affiliates around the country including FoxAtlanta WAGA-TV, Fox13 in Tampa and Fpox35 in Orlando.
Stetson University College of Law honors the dedication and contributions of alumni, faculty and friends with its Hall of Fame, which welcomed its first inductees in 2004.  To have been selected for the Hall of Fame, a candidate must have reached and remained at the pinnacle of his or her field and had a profound influence on the College of Law.
