Mike Johnson Joins Hall Booth Smith as Partner

ATLANTA – Hall Booth Smith, P.C. is pleased to announce that C. Michael “Mike” Johnson has joined the firm as Partner in the Atlanta office, bringing over three decades of commercial insurance litigation experience counseling clients on commercially insured risks and litigating coverage disputes in the state and federal courts across the country.
He has a deep understanding of insured risk contracts and related policy coverages across the commercial risk spectrum.
As lead trial counsel, Mike has successfully litigated hundreds of multimillion-dollar insurance disputes in Georgia and more than 25 other states covering a variety of liability and property coverages including: primary, excess and umbrella commercial general liability; blanket and inland marine property policies; environmental and pollution policies; auto and motor truck carrier policies; builders risk policies, professional errors and omissions policies; directors and officers policies; maritime cargo, hull and P&I policies; fine arts policies and specialized manuscript policies.
He has also won on appeal in the highest state courts and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second, Fourth, Fifth, Eighth, Ninth and Eleventh circuits.

Mr. Johnson is an AV rated trial lawyer, and has been named to “Georgia Super Lawyers” list from 2005-2017.
He is the past Chair of the Insurance Coverage Section for the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and a Fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel, an association of nation’s elite coverage attorneys.
Mike received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the North Carolina State University.
