Veteran Litigator and Former General Counsel H. Eric Hilton Joins HBS as Partner

ATLANTA –  Hall Booth Smith, P.C. is pleased to welcome H. Eric Hilton to the firm as a partner in its Atlanta office. With more than two decades of experience as both a trial lawyer and in-house general counsel, Hilton joins as a leading member of HBS’s construction, aging services, employment and government affairs practice groups.

Over the course of his career, Hilton has handled a wide range of matters with a particular focus on the construction, hospitality, property management and elder care industries. Hilton’s practice includes construction disputes, contractual matters, premises liability, negligence, negligent security, mold and toxic substance exposure, injury and wrongful death matters. Hilton also has significant experience with employment matters and collective bargaining negotiations and serves as outside general counsel to a number of construction companies and developers. Hilton has successfully handled matters to verdict in both state and federal court and before the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Before joining Hall Booth Smith, Hilton was a partner at two other national Atlanta based firms. Prior to that, Hilton served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for a national multifaceted construction, development, hospitality and property management enterprise for more than a decade. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of the firm’s legal affairs as well as its human resources and risk management departments.

Hilton currently serves on the Board of Directors for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and the Latin American Association and is a 2012 alumnus of Leadership Atlanta. He is a past Board member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Georgia Chapter and the Georgia Radio Reading Service. Hilton received the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Outstanding General Counsel Award in 2012 and was recognized as an “On the Rise” pick by the Fulton County Daily Report in 2007.

Hilton earned a Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School and he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Hampton University.
