Six Hall Booth Smith Attorneys Promoted to Partner

Joining the firm’s partnership ranks are Jacob O’Neal and Courtney Broussard Walker of the Atlanta office, J.D. Easley of the Alpharetta office, Jeremy J. Balu of the Denver office, Kyler S. Garmen of the Memphis office, and Jenny Swajkoski of the Missoula office.

About the Attorneys
Jacob O’Neal
Jacob’s practice is concentrated primarily on local government representation and defense work. He has extensive experience in defense of Title VII/ 42 USC §1983 actions and often advises local governments on compliance with National Voting Rights Act (NVRA) and voter registration policies, ordinance drafting, and legislation.
Courtney Broussard Walker
Courtney defends hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other health care facilities as well as doctors, nurses, and chiropractors in a wide variety of professional negligence claims. Previously, Courtney litigated in numerous matters involving general liability, premises liability, insurance coverage and bad faith, and aviation law.
J.D. Easley
J.D.’s practice focuses on defending businesses and individuals in personal injury and premises liability cases as well as defending law firms and attorneys in professional malpractice and Bar disciplinary matters. His practice also includes general liability and insurance coverage matters in state and federal courts throughout Georgia. Prior to joining HBS, J.D. represented employers and insurers in workers’ compensation cases, handling cases from the trial level to the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Jeremy J. Balu
Jeremy focuses his practice on construction, premises liability, general liability, and trucking accident litigation. For nearly a decade, he has represented construction companies, property owners, property managers, and homeowners associations of all sizes on a wide range of legal matters such as personal injury claims, premises liability, and construction defect litigation defense.
Kyler S. Garmen
Kyler practices in civil litigation in state and federal courts. He protects businesses, governments, and individuals during complex litigation. Kyler has extensive experience litigating high-exposure business disputes, construction cases, general liability claims, medical malpractice actions, and product liability matters. He has been a part of the defense team for numerous Fortune 500 global brands or their subsidiaries, as well as smaller businesses. Kyler also defends individuals such as accountants, architects, physicians, and engineers against allegations of professional malpractice.
Jenny Swajkoski
Jenny primarily represents professionals, medical providers, health care entities, and businesses in complex litigation and in an advisory capacity. Her practice spans from medical malpractice, health care law, commercial litigation, and general liability matters, and she regularly appears in various arenas, including state and federal courts as well as before state licensing boards and other administrative bodies.
