B.W. Stone
Biography
B. W. Stone is a Partner in the Hall Booth Smith Albuquerque office, where his practice focuses on general liability, medical malpractice, products liability, and transportation matters. With more than a decade of legal experience and a distinguished background in military service, B.W. brings a disciplined, strategic approach to complex civil litigation.
B.W. represents individuals, businesses, insurers, and professionals in a wide range of high-exposure matters in state and federal courts. His practice includes defending medical providers and healthcare institutions in medical malpractice claims, manufacturers and distributors in products liability litigation, and companies in transportation and catastrophic injury cases, with a particular focus on aviation. He has successfully tried over a dozen cases to favorable jury verdicts, and has obtained favorable outcomes through dispositive motions and negotiated resolutions in matters involving serious personal injury, wrongful death, aviation incidents, oilfield accidents, and civil rights claims.
Prior to joining Hall Booth Smith, B.W. founded and managed his own litigation firm, where he handled a broad spectrum of civil and criminal matters from inception through trial. He has also practiced civil litigation with established firms in Albuquerque, gaining extensive courtroom experience in both contested and summary proceedings.
Before entering the legal profession, B.W. served as fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy and later as a Reserve Naval Aviator and adversary pilot. His military service instilled the preparation, decisiveness, and composure under pressure that continue to define his litigation style. An FAA-certificated Airline Transport Pilot, B. W. brings both legal and practical expertise to his clients’ representation in aviation matters.
B.W. earned his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of New Mexico School of Law, graduating second in his class and receiving numerous academic honors, including Order of the Coif recognition. He received his Bachelor of Science in History, with Merit, from the United States Naval Academy.
