Joshua T. Reece is an Associate in our New York office, and he has extensive experience defending hospital systems, assisted living facilities and healthcare providers in a wide range of aging services and medical malpractice claims. He also handles cases all the way through appeal.

Before joining HBS, Josh worked in the Manhattan office of another firm, where he helped defend New York metropolitan area teaching hospitals and physicians in malpractice litigation in both trial and appellate level courts.

Earlier in his career, he worked in the Manhattan office of another firm defending accountants as well as commercial, family law, trusts and estates, intellectual property, and real estate attorneys and their firms in complex litigation and pre-litigation disputes. He also defended franchisors in complex, high exposure commercial litigation.

Josh earned a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University in Queens, New York. He also holds a Bachelor of Music, magna cum laude, in piano performance from the University of South Carolina.

An accomplished former classical pianist and student of Paul Ostrovsky of the Moscow Conservatory Trio, Josh specialized in Bach and late Beethoven works. He is also an avid runner, and has completed the Philadelphia and Brooklyn Marathons and the Potomac River North Face trail half-marathon.

Josh is a seasoned defense attorney, and often works with hospitals and other facilities as well as healthcare providers in preparing and defending them in a variety of medical malpractice claims and aging services matters. He has handled numerous cases at both trial and appellate courts, and also has experience in high exposure commercial litigation.
