Lauren Stevens
Biography
Lauren M. Stevens is an associate in our Tampa office, where she focuses her practice on insurance coverage, medical malpractice and general liability matters. She brings a unique perspective with significant experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex insurance matters throughout Florida.
Prior to joining HBS, Lauren served as an attorney at a local firm, where she advocated for homeowners in breach of contract and bad faith insurance disputes. Her work included managing litigation from inception to resolution, handling depositions of parties and experts, and appearing in hearings across all stages of the litigation process.
Earlier in her career, Lauren was an assistant public defender in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, where she represented clients in more than 1,900 cases. Her robust courtroom experience includes trials, evidentiary hearings, and appeals, including two successful writs of habeas corpus before the Second District Court of Appeal. She has also represented clients in mental health proceedings under Florida’s Baker Act.
Lauren earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, with a certificate in international legal studies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Saint Leo University.
