HBS Tampa Adds Associates Lauren Stevens and Matthew Morrow

The Tampa office is excited to welcome Lauren Stevens and Matthew Morrow to the Hall Booth Smith team.

About Lauren Stevens

Lauren focuses her practice on insurance coverage, medical malpractice and general liability matters. She brings a unique perspective with  significant experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex insurance matters throughout Florida. Prior to joining HBS, Lauren served as an attorney at a local firm, where she advocated for homeowners in breach of contract and bad faith insurance disputes. Her work included managing litigation from inception to resolution, handling depositions of parties and experts, and appearing in hearings across all stages of the litigation process.

Earlier in her career, Lauren was an assistant public defender in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, where she represented clients in more than 1,900 cases. Her robust courtroom experience includes trials, evidentiary hearings, and appeals, including two successful writs of habeas corpus before the Second District Court of Appeal. She has also represented clients in mental health proceedings under Florida’s Baker Act.

About Matthew Morrow

Matthew focuses his practice on aging services, general liability, and insurance coverage matters. He brings nearly a decade of experience representing insurers, businesses, and professionals in complex litigation, including first-party property claims, construction defect disputes, and coverage analyses.

Before joining HBS, Matthew served as staff counsel for two major insurance carriers and as an attorney in several Florida-based defense firms, where he managed hundreds of cases from inception through trial. He has extensive experience conducting and defending depositions, arguing dispositive motions, negotiating at mediations, and advising clients on litigation strategy. He also has a strong track record of securing favorable resolutions through meticulous claim evaluations and cost-conscious case management.
