Biography

Maia Botero is an associate in the Miami office of Hall Booth Smith, where her practice focuses on medical malpractice, premises liability, personal injury, real estate, and workers’ compensation matters.

She began her legal career as a legal assistant at a workers’ compensation firm before serving as a case manager at JAMS, where she coordinated mediations and arbitrations and managed case files for complex disputes. During law school, Maia built a diverse background working with a real estate firm, a criminal defense practice, and as a certified legal intern in the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, where she handled felony cases and represented clients in early representation hearings. She first joined HBS as a summer associate, where she assisted in drafting legal documents and conducting research across multiple practice areas.

Maia earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she concentrated in litigation and dispute resolution. During her time at Miami Law, she demonstrated strong leadership as President of the Yvette Ostolaza Mock Trial Team and the Fashion Law Society.
