Stefanie T. McHugh is Of Counsel in our office in Brunswick, Georgia, and her practice is focused on estate planning, fiduciary law, corporate formation and strategic planning.

Stefanie began her career in the private client group of a large bank, where helped administer estates and trusts for high net worth individuals. She also oversaw investment portfolios and cash positions to ensure they met the legal obligations of the estate or trust.

Stefanie brings extensive knowledge and expertise in sophisticated estate planning to HBS, and previously practiced for more than a decade at other firms in Atlanta and the Brunswick area.

She has handled numerous wills, trusts, probate, business formation and other related services such as coordinating with accountants, financial advisors and insurance agents to develop a coordinated and strategic plan. She has also conducted seminars and educational training on Georgia probate law, federal estate and gift tax regulations and the need for effective estate planning.

Stefanie earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Emory University School of Law. She also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and government from the University of Notre Dame.

She has served on the Advisory Board for St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in Brunswick for six years, and was President of the Board for three years. She also served on the Board of the Golden Isles Youth Orchestra.

EXPERIENCE

Stefanie has more than a decade of experience in estate planning, including creating wills and trusts, handling probate matters, and business formation. She works closely with accountants, financial advisors and insurance agents to develop a coordinated and strategic plan that protects the interests of clients and ensures a smooth process. Earlier in her career, she worked in the private client group of a large bank, giving her first-hand knowledge of estate and trust financial administration for high net worth clients.
