Veronica Skelton
Biography
An associate in the Atlanta office, Veronica Skelton practices in the areas of appellate, business litigation, business transactions, corporate & partnership, and governmental liability.
Veronica was a summer associate with the firm previously, where she gained hands-on experience assisting with litigation in medical malpractice, government liability and intellectual property matters. She also worked at another Atlanta law firm, where she drafted SBA 7(a) and 504 loan closings, as well as real estate and stock purchase agreements. In that role, she engaged in title searches, prepared title commitments, and coordinated with opposing counsel on business acquisition transactions.
Earlier in her career, Veronica was a member of the Legal Disparities & Equity Service Program in Athens, Georgia. There, she analyzed and presented solutions to legal factors contributing to homelessness in the community and collaborated with the Bigger Vision Homeless Shelter to implement practical interventions.
Veronica earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Georgia State University College of Law, where she served as the associate articles editor for the Law Review and received the CALI award for intellectual property. She also participated in the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and the Applied Legal Experience, Research, & Technology (ALERT) Program. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
