Hall Booth Smith Names Seven New Partners

Hall Booth Smith, P.C. is pleased to announce that it has named seven new partners, bringing the firm-wide total to 93.
“We are so pleased to welcome these talented professionals as partners,” said Alex Booth, managing partner of Hall Booth Smith. “Their expertise and dedication to clients at this time of expansion for our firm will help us accelerate the growth of our practice across the Southeast – and nationally.”
The new partners are:
Jodi Barrett is a partner in our office in N. Palm Beach, Florida. She represents professionals including healthcare providers, lawyers and appraisers in complex litigation through trials and appeals. She has provided counsel to employers in civil suits before agencies including OSHA and the EEOC, and has represented companies on general transactional and regulatory matters. She received her J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Indiana University.
Don Brown is a partner in  our Atlanta, Georgia office. His practice is focused on professional negligence/medical malpractice and ethics, retail & hospitality, and general liability. He earned a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law, magna cum laude, where he served as Legislative Associate Editor for the Georgia State University Law Review and participated in Moot Court. He also earned a B.B.A. from Georgia State University.
Kawania B. James is a partner in our Atlanta, Georgia office. She focuses on medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, retail and hospitality and general liability cases, including the appellate process. She earned a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she graduated cum laude, and was an active member of the Moot Court Team and a semifinalist in the Interstate Moot Court competition. She holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia, also cum laude.
Lauren Dimitri is a partner in our Columbus, Georgia office. She specializes in insurance defense and coverage, medical/professional malpractice, workers’ compensation, general liability and appellate practice. She earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was a notes editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and member of the Student Bar and Women Law Student Associations. She holds a B.A. in Political Science with minors in English and Sociology from the University of Georgia, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Ashik R. Jahan is a partner in Atlanta, Georgia office. He specializes in business and family immigration, helping companies and individuals obtain work and family visas, status, permanent residency and citizenship.  He also represents employers and insurers in workers’ compensation claims in the state of Georgia. He earned a J.D. from Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he served as Vice President of the Asian-Pacific American Law Student Association. He holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History from Vanderbilt University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
James G. Smith is a partner in our office in Brunswick, Georgia. He specializes in workers’ compensation litigation and has counseled clients through trial, appeal, settlement and mediation. He also represents clients in business litigation ranging from contract disputes, partnership disagreements and litigation management. He also represents insurance companies in first- and third-party litigation. He earned a J.D. from Georgia State University School of Law, and holds a B.A. from the University of Georgia.
R. David Ware is a partner in our Atlanta, Georgia office. He has extensive experience representing Fortune 500 companies, large government entities, high-profile athletes and high net worth individuals in complex litigation and multimillion-dollar negotiations and transactions. Earlier in his career, he served as the Fulton County Attorney. Ware earned a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, and holds a B.A. in English from West Georgia College, where he attended on an academic and athletic scholarship and was nationally ranked in NCAA Division II.
