HBS Attorneys Named Rising Stars in Georgia Super Lawyers Magazine

In the 2016 edition of the Georgia Super Lawyers magazine, the law firm of Hall Booth Smith (HBS) has once again been recognized for its outstanding legal work as four of its attorneys are on the list of Rising Stars. Attorneys Ashley GowderNichole HairJoel McKie and Denise Spitalnick, all of the Atlanta office, have received this honor multiple times.
Ashley Gowder was honored for work in personal injury general defense. Ms. Gowder has been recognized three times as a Rising Star. Her general liability practice includes the defense of businesses and individuals in premises liability, subrogation, and motor vehicle accident claims at all stages of litigation.
Partner Nichole Hair was recognized for her work in professional liability defense. This is the third time she has been honored as a Rising Star. Ms. Hair focuses her practice on defending companies and individuals in civil tort litigation, primarily medical malpractice and employment law, as well as specializing as outside counsel for the hospitality industry. She is an experienced litigator that has tried cases to verdict in both federal and state courts.
Partner Joel McKie is honored as a Rising Star for his work in construction litigation. This is his fourth time receiving this honor. Mr. McKie has experience representing contractors, subcontractors, developers, and insurance companies in various construction design and defect, delay, change orders and extra work, systems engineering, contract compliance, insurance coverage, personal injury, and property damage matters. Mr. McKie is also active in the Georgia Agribusiness Council, a lifetime member of the National FFA Alumni Association, and a member of the Agriculture Law Section of the Georgia Bar Association.
For the fifth time, Partner Denise Spitalnick has been recognized for her outstanding work in the area of general litigation. Mrs. Spitalnick’s litigation experience has included third party general liability cases throughout the Southeast. These have included trucking and automotive incidents as well as products and premise liability claims, including wrongful death and others. Her broad experience allows her to represent a varied range of client issues related to general liability claims.
