HBS Welcomes Attorney Russell A. Newman to the Nashville Office

HBS is pleased to welcome attorney Russell A. Newman to the Nashville office. Mr. Newman practices in business litigation and medical malpractice.  Prior to joining Hall Booth Smith, Mr. Newman was in practice with his father, Alan L. Newman, helping defend premises liability cases for numerous multi-billion dollar corporations and various other corporate clients.
Mr. Newman has experience in litigation arising out of slip and fall, trip and fall and various other premises liability claims, including shooting cases and multiple wrongful death cases. Mr. Newman has experience in both state and federal courts, handling cases of all levels of exposure, and involving a wide array of allegations and issues.  Mr. Newman has helped represent retail establishments, gas stations/convenience stores, trucking companies, paper mills, ammunition manufacturers, gun manufacturers, builders, general contractors and various other business establishments.
Mr. Newman is a proud lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).  At 17, Mr. Newman was emancipated so he could join The United States Marine Corps.  Mr. Newman worked as a hydraulics and air frame structural mechanic on F/A-18 Hornets with VMFA-142 and later joined HMLA-773 and worked on AH-1W SuperCobras and UH-1 Hueys.  In 2005, right after completing his aviation schools and within two weeks of joining his new fighter jet squadron, Mr. Newman deployed to Al Asad Airbase, Al Anbar, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  While deployed he worked 12-15 hours per day, 7 days per week for over 6 months in very intense and chaotic conditions.  His military training and experience has enabled Mr. Newman to perform exceptionally well in extremely stressful and highly intense situations.
