Welcome Alexander and Farbman to Nashville Office

Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) is pleased to announce that Emily Alexander and Jake Farbman have joined the firm’s Nashville office as new associates.

About Emily Alexander

Emily focuses her practice on health care law, medical malpractice defense, construction litigation, and aging services matters, representing hospitals, long-term care facilities, and healthcare providers throughout Tennessee.

Emily returns to Hall Booth Smith after previously serving as a summer associate, where she gained hands-on experience in medical malpractice and contract matters, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and assisting in trial preparation. Her prior experience also includes serving as a Deputy Law Clerk with the Davidson County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, where she worked across circuit, domestic, and probate dockets and supported judges and special masters during proceedings.

Emily earned her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law, where she served as a form and accuracy editor for the Journal of International Law & Commerce and was a member of the Travis Lewin Advocacy Honor Society. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Siena College.

About Jake Farbman

Jake focuses his practice on entertainment law, business transactions, intellectual property, and general litigation. He represents artists, creatives, and entrepreneurial clients in negotiating recording, publishing, and collaboration agreements while advancing their business interests and protecting their rights. His practice benefits from a rare combination of legal training, industry experience, and firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by artists, rights-holders, and entertainment companies.

Before joining HBS full-time, Jake served as a summer associate and law clerk in both the Nashville and Miami offices, where he drafted and reviewed producer, publishing, and recording agreements, prepared dispositive motions and settlement documents, and supported attorneys in hearings, depositions, and other litigation matters.

Jake also gained valuable judicial experience clerking for the Honorable Judge Laura Maria Gonzalez-Marques in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, Criminal Division, where he prepared legal research, drafted bench briefs and opinions, and observed courtroom proceedings.

Jake earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, where he received the Director’s Book Award for Excellence in Litigation Skills and was named to the Dean’s List.
