Partner Roger Martin Donates to the New Georgia State University College of Law Building

HBS Partner Roger Martin contributed to the new 200,000-square-foot Georgia State University College of Law building in the heart of downtown Atlanta. As a graduate of the Charter Class of Georgia State University College of Law, Mr. Martin contributed to the building by donating a study room. The Martin-Stephens study room is on the first floor and available for all law students to use.
With over 30 years of active practice of law, Mr. Martin has been involved in courtroom procedures and trials since his graduation in 1985. Mr. Martin serves as leader of the firm’s Dental Practice Group, as well as a member of the firm’s Long Term Care and the firm’s Birth Trauma and Catastrophic Injury Litigation Practice Groups. Mr. Martin made the donation in honor of his father. The giving spirit was instilled in Mr. Martin at a young age, when he watched his father develop an abandoned orphanage in Upstate New York into an inpatient facility for developmentally disabled children and adults. This facility still thrives today, named Springbrook in Oneonta, NY.
The new Georgia State building is the first dedicated legal education facility on campus, which includes 21 state-of-the-art classrooms, a conference center, a 230-seat ceremonial courtroom, additional courtrooms of varying sizes for clinical practice and community outreach and an International Arbitration Center. The Law Library occupies the top two floors and offers flexible learning space as well as a formal reading area, a café and an outdoor terrace.
