Hall Booth Smith, P.C. is excited to welcome Dana Woodall as partner and Alpesh (Al) Tailor as of counsel, both joining in the firm’s Atlanta office. Both bring experience as former government attorneys to their practice to offer clients broad perspective in their legal matters.

Dana brings nearly two decades of experience spanning criminal law, family law, public service, and agency leadership, empowering a deep understanding of complex legal issues facing clients throughout Georgia and the Southeast. She focuses her practice on governmental liability, health care, long term care, labor & employment and medical malpractice matters. Dana previously served as Chief Legal Officer and Executive Counsel for the Georgia Department of Labor, where she advised the Commissioner and led both the Office of General Counsel and the Unemployment Insurance Legal Services division. She also served as Interim Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Information Officer, demonstrating a breadth of leadership across legal and operational domains.

Al, with a reputation for delivering results in high-stakes cases across both state and federal courts, is a seasoned trial attorney with over a decade of legal experience who focuses his practice on criminal defense, premises liability, and transportation matters. He previously served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit at the Office of the Attorney General of Georgia. There, he prosecuted complex white collar crime, including a landmark $1.2 million healthcare fraud case in federal court. While serving in this role, he earned the 2018 United States Attorney Award.
