Biography

Alex Battey is a Partner in the Atlanta office. She focuses her practice on the defense of professional and medical malpractice cases. Ms. Battey represents health-care institutions, private practices, physicians, psychologists, nurses, long term care facilities, physician assistants and medical practice staff members in complex medical malpractice actions in Georgia and nationwide.

As a member of the Class Action and Batch Claim practice group at Hall Booth, Ms. Battey has expertise in handling high-volume, high-value groups of claims. She specializes in evaluating and defending damages for Batch Claims, utilizing tailored assessment tools to assess cases individually and globally to advise clients on trial strategies and potential resolution scenarios.

Ms. Battey is also a key member of the firm’s Coronavirus Task Force. She closely monitors the fast-changing regulatory and legislative matters at the federal, state and local levels to help clients remain compliant with evolving recommendations and mandates amid the global pandemic. She also represents healthcare clients facing claims related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University in 2006 and received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2011. While in law school she served on the Editorial Board and then as the Senior Articles Editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law.

Ms. Battey was born and raised in Atlanta. She is licensed to practice law in Georgia and the District of Columbia.
