Scott Corley
Biography
Scott Corley is an Associate in our office in Nashville, and he specializes in construction defect, health care law, medical malpractice, products liability, insurance coverage, premises liability, and transportation. Scott has defended construction companies, manufacturers, hospitals, physicians, dentists, insurers, and other companies in state and federal courts.
Earlier in his career, Scott served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Medicaid Fraud & Integrity Division of the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office. He investigated false claims by medical providers through TennCare, the state’s Medicaid program, which gives him valuable insight and experience in medical provider contracts, common medical billing mistakes and errors, coding pitfalls, and federal and state health care laws and regulations.
Scott previously served on active duty in the Army Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps where he worked in legal assistance, government contracts, and as a prosecutor and Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA). He continues to serve in the US Army Reserve as a Major in the JAG Corps.
Scott earned a Juris Doctor from Washington & Lee University School of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, with a double major in Human & Organizational Development and Economics from Vanderbilt University. While attending Vanderbilt on an ROTC scholarship, he served as Vice President of the Inter-Fraternity Council and played on the club rugby team for four years.
