Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) is pleased to welcome Meghan Theodore as a Partner in the firm’s Tampa office. With more than 18 years of litigation experience, Meghan focuses her practice on general liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, and transportation matters.
“Meghan brings extensive litigation experience and a strong understanding of the challenges facing businesses, insurers, and transportation companies throughout Florida,” said Ryan Rivas, Managing Partner of HBS’s Tampa office. “Her proven track record in handling complex matters, combined with her strategic approach to client service, makes her an excellent addition to our growing team.”
Meghan represents businesses, insurers, transportation companies, retailers, restaurants, and other clients in complex civil litigation throughout Florida. Her experience includes premises liability, negligent security, automobile and trucking accidents, dram shop liability, products liability, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and other high-exposure bodily injury and property damage claims.
Throughout her career, Meghan has managed complex litigation matters from initial investigation through resolution, including discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial. She has obtained dozens of summary judgments in premises liability, negligent security, dram shop, and transportation cases and has served as first and second chair in jury trials involving automobile negligence, trucking accidents, and premises liability claims.
A significant portion of Meghan’s practice involves representing trucking and transportation companies in accident litigation. She has extensive experience conducting immediate accident investigations, evaluating potential exposure, and developing early defense strategies. Prior to joining HBS, Meghan practiced with other Florida law firms, focusing on insurance defense and general civil litigation. In addition to her litigation practice, she has supervised and mentored associates and litigation teams.
Meghan earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Law, cum laude, from the University of Florida. She is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
