Hall Booth Smith Buffalo Office Welcomes Melinda Grabowski

Hall Booth Smith is pleased to announce that Melinda L. Grabowski has joined the firm as a Partner in the Buffalo, New York office, where her practice focuses on medical malpractice and health care litigation.

“Melinda brings a strong background in defending health care providers and navigating complex professional liability matters,” said James Balcarczyk, Partner in the firm’s Buffalo office. “Her experience in both litigation and regulatory matters makes her a tremendous asset to our health care clients and to the continued growth of our Buffalo office.”

Grabowski concentrates her practice on medical malpractice and long term care matters, representing nursing homes, physicians, and other health care providers in complex medical malpractice litigation. She guides clients through all phases of a case with a strategic, results-driven approach.

She brings extensive experience defending health care providers in high-exposure medical malpractice actions and regularly advises professional liability carriers on case evaluation, risk assessment, and resolution strategy. Her practice also includes representing licensed professionals in disciplinary proceedings before the New York State Department of Health’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct and the New York State Education Department’s Office of Professional Discipline, as well as assisting clients with credentialing matters.

Earlier in her career, Grabowski served as in-house legal counsel for a regional health plan, where she worked on insurance policy drafting and responded to inquiries from state regulatory agencies. This experience provides her with valuable insight into the regulatory and business considerations facing health care organizations.

Grabowski earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School and received her Bachelor of Music, cum laude, from the State University of New York College at Fredonia.
