HBS Opens 24th Office in Oklahoma City as Heron, Fox, Trout & Sherry Join Firm

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – SEPTEMBER 1, 2021 – Hall Booth Smith, P.C. is pleased to announce its 24th office as the attorneys at Oklahoma City-based boutique medical malpractice defense firm Heron, Fox, Trout & Sherry join the organization.

Michael J. Heron, Chris L. Fox and Kevin K. Trout are joining Hall Booth Smith as Partners, along with Associate Patrick R.B. Sherry and other support staff.

Heron will manage the Oklahoma City office, which is located at 2933 NW 156th St., Edmond, OK 73013, which marks the 10th state where Hall Booth Smith operates as the firm recently surpassed 300 attorneys across 30 practice groups.

Heron is a Partner with 30 years of legal experience, and he concentrates his practice on high-exposure medical malpractice litigation as well as professional liability, credentialing and licensing actions, and other regulatory and compliance matters. He represents hospitals, practice groups, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in a wide range of litigation, policies and procedures, compliance, investigations, regulatory matters, licensure, labor and employment issues, business transactions and other day-to-day business needs. Heron earned a JD from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, and he also completed MS and BS degrees at the University of Oklahoma. He formerly served as President and sat on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel.

Fox is a Partner with more than 20 years of experience defending hospitals and other health care providers in high-exposure medical malpractice litigation such as wrongful death, catastrophic injury, traumatic brain injury, amputation and misdiagnosis. He also represents clients in employment matters, corporate and commercial developments, product liability, general liability and other commercial litigation disputes. Fox earned a JD at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, and a BA from the University of Oklahoma.

Trout has 25 years of litigation experience, and specializes in complex medical malpractice and aging services defense. He has spent his entire career representing health care clients at the state and federal level, and he also guides clients through the appellate process to protect a hard-fought victory or overturn an unfavorable outcome. Kevin also counsels clients on internal investigations, licensure and credentialing, regulatory and compliance matters, administrative processes, and employment and contract issues. Trout earned a JD from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, and completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma.

Sherry is an Associate who has protected the rights of health care clients for more than two decades. He concentrates his practice on medical malpractice litigation defense, insurance, premises liability and general liability, and represents hospitals and health care professionals of all sizes. Sherry earned a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and a BA from the University of Oklahoma.
