Hall Booth Smith bolsters its Miami team by welcoming five talented and enthusiastic attorneys. This group includes Partners Ramon Emilio “Ray” Javier and Richard A. Vargas, whose seasoned expertise and leadership will significantly contribute to the growth of the office, along with Associates Dalianett Corrales, Arlette Gomez, and Hannah Marie Blanck.

Ramon Emilio “Ray” Javier

Ray’s practice focuses on construction, general liability, premises liability, professional malpractice and ethics, and transportation matters. He has litigated and tried cases throughout the State of Florida on behalf of a myriad of clients including contractors, security companies, restaurants and taverns, recreation centers, and transportation companies. Prior to joining HBS, he worked as in-house counsel and managing attorney of the Miami office of Conifer Insurance Company. His early trial experience was in New York as a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society Criminal Defense Division and in private practice in Manhattan.

Upon relocating to Florida, Ray was an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County and served as an assistant chief in the career criminal unit. He was also Partner for a local state and federal civil litigation firm where he was responsible for handling complex construction defect and construction accident cases, professional malpractice defense of architects and engineers, negligent security and liquor liability / dram shop defense, and insurance coverage disputes. Overall, he has tried nearly 100 jury trials to verdict.

Richard A. Vargas

Richard concentrates his practice on business litigation, construction, environmental, mass torts, land use, general liability, premises liability, products liability, and transportation matters. He has extensive experience practicing in various areas of civil litigation, including premises liability, negligent security, hospitality services, liquor liability and dram-shop, construction defect, contractual disputes, consumer litigation, and first-party insurance coverage.

Richard has litigated numerous lawsuits from inception through trial on behalf of recreation centers, restaurants, fast-food establishments, automobile dealerships, hotels, condominium associations, shopping centers, and retail operators across Florida. He focuses on representing his clients with the utmost professionalism while providing honest evaluations and zealous counsel.

Dalianett Corrales

Dalianett focuses on general liability, medical malpractice, and premises liability matters. Prior to joining HBS, she was an associate at a criminal appellate firm in Fort Lauderdale. She was also a law clerk for an insurance defense firm where she handled various types of civil litigation.

Arlette Gomez

Arlette practices in general liability, health care, and professional malpractice matters. Prior to joining HBS, she worked with an insurance defense firm representing medical malpractice matters. She also interned for several south Florida firms, where she handled commercial litigation, insurance defense, real estate, probate, social security, and family law matters.

Hannah Marie Blanck

Hannah’s practice focuses on general liability and medical malpractice matters. Prior to joining HBS, she was a certified legal intern for the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office where she represented a number of her own clients under the supervision of an assistant public defender. In addition, she interned for the Honorable John O’Sullivan at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, where she researched and drafted a Social Security benefit order ahead of publication by the judge.
