Augusta Office welcomes Landon, Pate, and Poteau

Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) is pleased to welcome Laurel Landon, Travis Pate, and Fajorah S. Poteau to its Augusta office, where they will support the firm’s growing presence in the region and expand its ability to serve clients across a broad range of practice areas.

“We’re delighted to welcome Laurel, Travis, and Fajorah to our Augusta office,” said Robin Daitch, Managing Partner. “Each brings unique strengths that will support our team, deepen our service offerings, and further elevate the client experience.”

Laurel Landon is Of Counsel in the Augusta office, where she focuses her practice on general liability, labor & employment, medical malpractice, and workers’ compensation matters. With more than 25 years of litigation experience, Laurel brings a deep understanding of complex civil and employment disputes, as well as medical malpractice defense. She represents clients across a range of industries, providing strategic counsel and effective advocacy from pre-litigation through resolution.

Before joining HBS, Laurel practiced at an international law firm, where she concentrated on medical malpractice defense and commercial litigation. Her work there involved defending health care facilities and providers in high-stakes matters, as well as handling complex business disputes. Laurel earned her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia.

Travis Pate focuses his practice on general liability, medical malpractice, construction, and premises liability matters. Before becoming an associate, he worked with HBS as a summer associate, where he drafted pleadings and other documents in medical malpractice cases, conducted detailed research on issues such as bad faith attorney fees and discovery disputes, and assisted in mediations involving multi-million-dollar settlements. Travis also gained valuable experience as a legal intern with the District Attorney’s Office in Thomson, Georgia, supporting prosecutors in the child and family law division. His background includes leadership roles in the construction industry, where he managed compliance and safety programs. He earned his J.D. from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University and his B.A. in Legal Studies from Faulkner University, where he was a member of the football team.

Fajorah S. Poteau practices in the areas of aging services, health care, insurance coverage, and medical malpractice. She assists clients in navigating complex litigation and regulatory matters with a thoughtful and client-centered approach. Prior to joining HBS, Fajorah gained broad legal experience through externships and research roles, including work in insurance defense and medical-related litigation at a Knoxville law firm and service with the Office of the DeKalb County Solicitor General. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Georgia School of Law, focusing on criminal defense issues and inmate advocacy, and as an Administrative Assistant for the City of Winder, where she supported the Mayor’s office and multiple municipal departments.

Fajorah earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law, where she held leadership roles in the Student Bar Association and Immigration Law Society. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Georgia.
